Ariel Sharon and his influence on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The bachelor thesis deals with the role of individuals in foreign policy, factors, which influence politician's decision-making and with the personality of Ariel Sharon and his lifelong influence on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The thesis is devoted to Sharon's career in Israeli army and politics and to his life's attitude to the conflict. Special part of the thesis deals with his disengagement plan and with the reasons of this decision. There are also introduced the consequences of the disengagement for Sharon, Israeli and the Gaza strip.
Impacts of Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip on the development of Israeli-Palestinian relations

The aim of the thesis is to analyse the impact of the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza in 2005. This work is divided into two parts, theoretical and empirical. The first part deals with selected issues of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict by 2005, such as historical landmarks, especially the first Israeli-Arab war and the Six Day War, the international legal status of Gaza, on which a consensus did not exist and policy of the Jewish settlements. The practical part is specifically dedicated to the process of withdrawal and its impact on Israeli-Palestinian relations, especially on the economic situation and the lives of Palestinians in Gaza. Important attention is paid to the current situation of bilateral relations and the future of the Gaza Strip. The work is supplemented by pictorial documentation, selected UN resolutions and statistical data.

This bachelor thesis deals with the importance of the personality of Ariel Sharon in the military and in the government of the State of Israel before, during and after its origin in 1948 and with the effects of his activity at the military and governmental posts on (de)escalation of the Middle East, Arab-Israeli conflict. At first, the thesis surveys the historical development of the conflict between the Arabic and Jewish population and characterizes the course of the four Arab-Israeli wars. In the next part the text concentrates on the roles of Ariel Sharon in the lead of the Jewish state during the consolidation of the position in the international relations of the region of Middle East and on the most important and most controversial events, which happened during his activitiy. The last part of the text discusses the consequences of these events and their impact on the efforts for solving the long conflict.
